Food 4 Thought Café - Kent State University

This is a late review for me - i usually go to this staple of a place everyday before class or work. My usual order is a plain bagel with peanut butter and dark roast coffee. Today, i decided to try something new - shake up my order for a change. I ordered the Bowman Wrap which included peanut butter, banana, granola, yogurt and raisins on a white wrap. It was good, but i had to wait 15 minutes for it - not cool in my book!

I've got to give Kent State credit for including a facilities such as this. In the student center, there are places to dine such as Subway, Auntie Ann's Pretzels and an Asian place. Even though students are hungry and busy running from class to class, i'd like to think they deserve a better meal or snack other than well....junk.
My only complaint is to PLEASE turn some air on. It is so hot in there, it's hard to enjoy food.

Overall, it's a nice place to grab a quick and healthy snack.

EuroGyro - Kent, Ohio

EuroGyro - what can I say? If you're from Kent, you know this place. If you're not from Kent, you're clueless about this place. And you my friend, are missing out and owe it to yourself to check this place out. A true hole in the wall kind of place to grab a bite weather it be daytime or night.
I ended up ordering a simply 3 cheese and pita with sauce, tomatoes and mushrooms. Not pictured below, just imagine the simplicity in your head. At first I was turned off by the "vibe" here and immediately thought the food would be awful. To my surprise I really liked the food here. It was fresh, quick and tasty. I have learned that you really cannot judge a book by its cover, nor a restaurant by it's appearance. My boyfriend, Chris, even asked if the place still books shows for bands, they used to back in the day. They said sure and Chris almost booked one at his old stomping grounds (he's played there numerous times).

I would defiantly come back here again. The appearance certainly did not win me over, but the food was solid!

Bricco - Kent, Ohio

Note: I have not been paid or sponsored in any way by Bricco's in Kent, Ohio to write this review.

This evening, my mother treated us all to a dinner at Bricco's in Kent, Ohio. The company included My sister, her boyfriend Cody and his family, along with Chris, myself and mom. Mom considered it a Pre-Thanksgiving meal. It was a beautiful, chilly night that called for family, friends and laughter and hopes for good food.

Bricco's is located in Kent, Ohio in the newer downtown area, better known as the "cool/hipster" area. As soon as i walked in, i felt the positive vibes of laughter, cheer and warmth. Below are some pictures of Bricco's and it's vibe.

I ordered the Five Cheese pizza which had mozzarella, cheddar, feta, goat and Parmesan on a bed of marina sauce for 10 bucks. Chris and I split it. It tasted like something good old Pizza Hut could whip up in a minute, but it was decent. Everyone else ordered something filling such as steak, ravioli and salads. Oh yeah, dessert was defiantly in the works for ordering. I ordered an Apple-Pop Tart-Pastry thing with real vanilla ice cream. I could tell it was real because of the vanilla beans in it....right?

Being the true Germaphobe i am, i had to check out the bathrooms. You see, for me that's a must. It's like watching Sex In The City with a martini or a few in hand. It's a must, people. I think of it as a staple to my whole food blogger experience, in other words. My rule of thumb is if there is hot water in the bathrooms that the restaurant must be clean. As i walked in, i saw the funky sink and push not pull door and i was immediately won over.

Monk would approve.

Overall, the food was a soild B, but the company was a true A+. If you're looking for cool vibes and OK food, Bricco's in Kent, Ohio will satisfy your craving.

First Post

Hello World. My name is Grace. I am currently a student at Kent State. I consider myself a new food blogger, although I've been secretly critiquing food all my life. The reason i have started this blog is because I want to educate the people in my area about restaurants. That includes food safety, price, quality and personal opinion.
